I've been tattooing for about five or six years, and somewhere in there I became a business owner too. Nobody warns you that running it all alone can become a nightmare. The stress quietly takes the fun out of being an artist.
What wore me down most was the questions. The same “how much?” over and over. Half of them tire-kickers who'd vanish after eating an hour of my time. I'd be up at all hours answering pricing DMs with no structure to any of it. Stack a month of that against one hour of actually tattooing and I knew I was losing.
Then I noticed something about sales: speed closes deals. When a video went viral and the inquiries poured in, the ones I answered fast booked. The ones I got to hours later booked less.
